Singers begin their choral singing journey in Prep Chorus, which introduces first and second graders to singing together in a choir format. Prep Chorus meets once a week for 45 minutes; rehearsals include games, movement, and singing with an emphasis on creating sound as a group. Concepts taught include the solfège scale, beat, rhythm, pitch matching, and singing in unison and in two parts.

Repertoire will include unison folk songs, partner songs, and rounds. Each session culminates in a performance for family. No audition or voice placement is required.

Fall 2025 Session Dates (minimum 12 singers to run each session):

• Prep Chorus Amethyst: September 16 - December 9, 2025 (recital 12/10/25); no class 11/25/25

• Prep Chorus Gold: September 17 - December 10, 2025 (recital 12/10/25); no class 11/26/25

Spring 2026 Session Dates (minimum 12 singers to run each session):

• Prep Chorus Amethyst: January 20 - April 14, 2026 (recital 4/15/25); no class 3/31/26

• Prep Chorus Gold: January 21 - April 15, 2026 (recital 4/15/25); no class 4/1/26

Pricing:

• $300.00 per session plus a $30 annual registration fee

• $600 for the full year plus a $30 annual registration fee

Rehearsal Time:

• Prep Chorus Amethyst rehearses Tuesdays from 4:30 - 5:15 p.m. (min. 12 singers)

• Prep Chorus Gold rehearses Wednesdays from 4:30 - 5:15 p.m. (min. 12 singers)
